A major part of the problem in the South DeKalb educational system is the inability to retain good teachers. The School District has been unable to ascertain exactly why teachers are leaving, probably due to fear of reprimand or the potential of being 'black-balled'. But, this has been problematic for quite some time.

Hiring good, or should I say great teachers is a necessity for student success, which can help to improve student graduation rates and the likelihood that students will transition to post-secondary education. The youth in our community deserve the quality of education that is provided in other upscale communities. A great educational foundation and opportunities are essential components for student success.

Check out the attached article in Champion Newspaper, written earlier this year, that goes indepth about this issue.
